This compact journey takes you from the red city to the golden dunes of erg Chebbi, passing through stunning mountain scenery, remote kasbahs and ancient towns.  Ideal for travellers who would like a taste of rural Morocco and the desert without sacrificing comfort or rhythm.

 

Day 1  Marrakech → Ait Benhaddou → Ouarzazate → Skoura → Dades valley

• collect from accommodation

• early departure from Marrakech via the Tizi n Tichka mountain pass

• visit ksar at Aït Ben Haddou and continue through Ouarzazate 

• visit Kasbah Amridil at Skoura village

• drive along zig-zag road to scenic Dades valley & panoramic viewpoint

 

Day 2  Dades valley → Todra gorge → El Jorf → erg Chebbi, Merzouga

• visit scenic Todra Gorge with its cliff-sided canyon

• visit Oasis museum at El Khorbat village

• visit khettara, ancient underground irrigation canal system, roadside at El Jorf

 

Day 3  erg Chebbi, Merzouga → Tamnougalt → Ouarzazate → Marrakech

​

• visit Casbah des Caids at Tamnougalt

• journey along scenic Draa valley

• continue via Alnif and Ouarzazate 

• cross the Tizi n Tichka mountain pass road
